WHAT WE WORK WITH
We chose our materials to balance presence, durability, and accessibility. Jewellery that feels substantial when worn, but still designed to be lived in rather than saved for special occasions.
Our pieces are crafted using a high-quality brass foundation. We chose brass deliberately. It allows us to create sculptural, statement designs with the weight and form we want, while allowing the piece to be malleable to comfortably fit any arm size. Brass has long been used in jewellery and decorative metalwork because it holds shape well, takes plating beautifully, and allows for intricate detail.
Once the form is perfected, each piece is plated with a thick layer of precious metal to achieve its final finish.
For our gold pieces, we use a 14k gold plating. We chose 14k intentionally rather than higher karats, as it offers better durability and resistance to wear, making it better suited to jewellery that is meant to be worn often rather than stored away. We also prefer the warmer, more balanced tone of 14k gold over the brighter yellow of higher karat finishes.
For our silver-toned pieces, we apply a high-quality 925 pure sterling silver plating to achieve a clean, refined finish. A final rhodium coating is then applied, giving the surface a brighter, more polished tone while helping to slow tarnishing and preserve its finish over time.
After plating, every piece is sealed with a protective nano coating. This layer helps reduce tarnishing, slows down colour fading, and adds an extra level of protection against everyday wear.
The result is jewellery designed to feel bold, dependable, and expressive. Pieces made to move with you, not sit in a box.
CARE
Caillí jewellery is made to be worn confidently, but like all plated jewellery, it benefits from mindful care.
Water, steam, and chemicals are the main things that can affect the finish over time. We recommend removing your jewellery before swimming, showering, or using saunas, as salt water, chlorine, and heat can speed up wear.
Perfumes, lotions, and hair products can also affect plating if they sit directly on the metal. Let these settle on your skin before putting your jewellery on.
When you are not wearing your pieces, store them in the pouch or box they came in. This helps prevent scratches, friction against other metals, and unnecessary exposure to moisture.
To clean, use a soft cloth to gently buff the surface. If a deeper clean is needed, rinse briefly with lukewarm water, dry fully, and avoid abrasive cloths or polishing pastes.
With this level of care, your jewellery will maintain its shine, colour, and presence for years to come.
PROCESS
Most designs start as sketches. I roughly draw each piece by hand first. From there, I translate the idea into digital mockups, refining the form and scale until it feels balanced and intentional.
Once a design feels right, it moves into development with our manufacturing partners. This stage involves a lot of back and forth. Adjustments, discussions, and technical refinement to make sure the piece works not just visually, but structurally too.
We worked with multiple manufacturers before choosing the one we partner with today. We were looking for high standards, ethical practices, and attention to detail. Once we found that, we didn’t compromise.
When a design is approved for production, the factory creates a mould. This mould becomes the blueprint for every piece that follows, so precision at this stage is essential.
From there, we receive physical samples. These are worn, tested, and examined closely. If something feels even slightly off -whether in weight, fit, or finish - it goes back for adjustment. Sometimes this means minor refinements, and sometimes it means returning to the drawing board and creating a new mould entirely.
Only once a piece meets our standards in form, finish, and wearability is it approved for production.
Throughout the process, quality control happens at multiple stages. Each batch is checked for consistency in plating, structure, and finish before it ever reaches you.
